This round of genius hour I am changing my topic. This time, instead of focusing on improving my swim I want to improve my writing skills. For the young authors competition I wrote a book called The Strive to Survive. I really liked my idea. But, I procrastinated and wrote about ten pages of it in one night. Because of that I feel the ending was abrupt and a lot of things I wanted to incorporate I didn't have time to.
So now, I will be researching how to become a better writer and reach out to some of my favorite authors like Nickolas Sparks and Simone Elkeles so get some tips. Once I have all of my research down I will start my story from scratch and rewrite it. If I'm happy with it I might possibly try to publish it but that's not my main goal.
I am not completely abandoning my swim project though. Once I get some material I will go back every so often and continue with my prototype to try to make it into an actual working model.
