For this genius hour I worked on taking photos for my photography passion and it ended up being a huge success. I got many photos taken and I will now transfer the photos I took on the iPad and transfer them to my phone!
Today in Genius hour Natalya, Kayla, and I did a DIY video on play-do that you can wash your hands with. So in this project you take corn starch, dish soap and food coloring. You want to mix them all together. After that we went and washed our hands with it and the play-do that was dry turned into soap under the water. Then we posted our video on our YouTube channel diyGeniusTime7
Today in Genius hour I worked on a diy project called The Foam Snake. In this project I needed food coloring, yeist, an empty bottle, hydrogen peroxide, two empty bowls, water, and dish soap. For this experement I suceeded. I had worked in a group with Kayla and Natalya. I chose to take a video to show the process of my work. The username for our Youtube is diyGeniusTime7. This channel will show the projects' that we have done. So far we only have one video up but more will be coming soon. I'm feeling happyer that I chose diy projects as my passion projects because I love experimenting!
Genius hour: Genius hour is an hour of time sixth grade students get to have to work on a passion. My genius hour project is photography. I had chosen photography right away because I really have great interest for photography and I always help my sister out with her photography class in high school. I always love to help her because I think it was so amazing the affect a photo can have on you.
In the beginning of my photography project I was a little shaky not really knowing what to do. But when I went home my sister had really helped me out. Since my sister takes a photography class in high school I thought she would be a great person to go to. She had given me some great tips and had shown me how to really work a camera. After that I was back on my feet and I felt strongly about my project. I decided I wanted to take more photos so I asked one of my best friends to come with me to downtown Downers Grove to take some pictures for my project. Next I printed out some of the photos I had taken and left the rest of the photo’s I had online. I feel I might stick with photography for the next genius hour because I had a lot of fun with it and I feel it’s one of my strongest passions. My ending result for this project is to sell my photo’s on a website called Art Sonia and I also made a google slideshow to show my journey in each of my photos. This genius our project was certainly a journey. It reminds me of a roller coaster ride because there were some parts of this journey where it went downhill. But at the end of this journey it was all going uphill and I feel this genius hour round 1 had really affected me in a good way. It really helped me to realize how much I love photography! Now that I really know what genius hour is I’m certainly ready for the next round of genius hour. Hi, my name is Georgia I'm six grade student at Goodrich Elementary School.
