My genius hour project was building the London bridge out of spare pieces of Lego's. I chose this project because I thought I would be good at it. And I really like building Lego's so I thought I would complete. First I brought Lego's in Second I looked up the instructions,Third I stated to build it. In between it all I was blogging. I did not seek any support but next genius hour i will. At the end I failed but now I know what I did wrong. I started kind of early but I could't get very far it was hard to find the right focus. I Had a problem finding the right Lego's and that slowed me down a lot so I couldn't really make that time up. And I learned to make sure I have everything. Next time I will have all the materials, know what I am doing, know were I will do this project, and get help when I need it. For my next genius hour project I will replicate other peoples science experiments. And I already know who I will replicate.
I have done more to the project of building the London bridge out of spare Lego's but I did not do very much. But like I promise I got a picture of my progress. We do not have genius hour next week but when we do I hope I will have more to show you. And by the end of this school year I hope to accomplish this project. And so far I have used a lot of my Lego's to combine them to substitute for the pieces I don't have. So that solution is working very well and I hope this will help me even more to finish. And today my visual learning is taking a picture of how far I have gotten. And this is the Lego's I have used today, and how far I am right now. but i failed.
I have STARTED building but I HAVEN'T got a lot done and I could take a picture because there was nothing for me to take a picture with. But next genius hour I will have pictures of how far I have gotten so sorry for the delay but I PROMISE I will have a picture next time so hang in there. So UNTIL next time good bye.Today I didn't bring my Lego"s so I didn't make any progress today but I am hoping to make progress next eek and it will be good. And just to remind you I am building the London bridge out of Lego's. And I will have my first picture of how it will be working out and how far I've gotten into the progress. I have gotten a box from my teachers and with it I will be putting all the pieces of Lego's I will need to build the London bridge. And I have put the online instructions on one of my google docs but since it is 169 pages I won't be able to print in I have to keep It on my docs and have to read it from online. But I will put a picture on this of what my London bridge looks like.
I am starting to get ready for my new project with is building the London bridge out of spare pieces of Lego's. and if I don't have the right pieces I will have to combine other pieces to help make it act like that piece.
This blog is about genius hour which is a time on Friday to study something we are interested in. So my project was doing an egg drop. The reason I chose the egg drop was it would teach me how to try to stop an egg from breaking when it was dropped.
The first step was to figure out what machine to use to keep the egg in. Then I had to find something that I could put the egg in. Next I had to test each one of my plans so that I could make it a bit more better or a lot better if I really had to. After a while I finally thought that I could use a container and I will see how it all works out when I test it. I watched videos on YouTube to figure out what kind of plans to make. Within this next week I will be telling all about if the egg drop worked or not and what happened. I have not yet done the final egg drop to get the final results. So the material that I was going to use for the egg drop project is no longer able to use because it is gone. I decided to move on to a different project that I really wanted to do which is building legos without instruction to push myself to be able to use my imagination. So I will get back to my new one. I'm a 6th grade student and I learn new things everyday either when I am at home or at school. So far today I am learning how to blog for my first time so i'm excited! I can't wait to share more things to the world. You will see more exciting posts about being a 6th grader.
