Right now in Genius Hour, I am finishing up searching for what's going to be in for Spring 2015. Then, my partner (Merjaan) and I are going to start sketching and making the real product. After that, we are going to open up a table and sell our real products to make a profit and donate 50% of it to the ASPCA.

So far in Genius Hour I've learned about fashion, but it's more than just what you wear, it's something you need. I've learned how to make clothes and accessories. My partner (Merjaan) and I contacted Bethany Mota (but she didn't answer), Charming Charlie (who also didn't respond), and Joann Fabrics'(who did respond!) and we might contact Sephora. My thinking has changed because at first I wanted to just make fashion and show people that it's easy to do, but now I am working with my partner and selling clothes and jewelry to make a bigger profit and decided to give 50% of it to the ASPCA.
At the beginning of today's Genius Hour I was planning on what I was going to do as a product, then it was all about contacting people. At first I really had no idea on who to contact but Merjaan and I went over some stores and fashion people and contacted three people, Bethany Mota, Joann Fabrics and Merjaan's mom because she makes jewelry so she can help us. We're also going to contact Charming Charlie's. If any of them respond back we will get get some tips from them and be successful sales people.
The second round of Genius Hour has so far been really fun. What's new is that we have partners to help us if we need it and look over what we're doing, if you want they can even work with your partner on your project. My partner and I are working together and we're making jewelry and clothes to sell to see if we can make more of a profit by selling them than making them. We are donating 40% of our profits to the ASPCA foundation for the animals. I like the new Genius Hour because I never thought I'd want to work with a partner until I did.
I liked it and disliked it. I liked it because it was a break from doing normal writing and it’s something different. I disliked it because I would’ve liked a little (or a lot) more time to do it, because I kind of had to rush. When I first heard of it I was like “oh, great another project that’s boring and not fun,” but after a couple weeks of doing it I changed my mind in the end it ended up being lots of fun sharing your passion with other people. At the beginning I had absolutely no idea what my passion was at first but I was thinking and I love manatees they’re kind of like my passion and that’s when the whole thing went together. I actually really liked it after all even though I thought I wouldn’t.
When I was about four years old I was in Florida, my family and I we're staying on Crystal River (home of the West Indian Manatees) my dad decided that him and I we're going to swim with the manatees. I never really knew about the manatees before I swam with them, after that experience I knew what they looked like and where they lived, I instantly fell in love with them. A little bit after I got in the water I was convinced I felt one on my foot. My mom and brother said that it wasn't but, I knew it was. When I got out of the water and went into the gift shop I was aloud to pick out one thing, I picked a manatee wearing a inner tube that said Florida. I love manatees but sadly they're endangered, I hope that one day we don't have to worry about them going extinct. Please help the gentle giant, the sea cow, the manatee they need our help and we can give them what they need. Save the Manatees!
