My genius hour project was continuing my charity project. I chose this because I felt there was a lot to still do before My charity could as successful as possible. My inspiration to choose it in the beginning was when I watched a movie called Season of a Lifetime. My first step was finalizing my website. Then I had to think of ways to make money for charity. I come up with a silent auction. After that I started researching how to have a successful silent auction. Now I took what I learned from the websites and talked to my aunt. She told me to I would need a formal letter to get donations from businesses. My next step was to make the letter. After that I started finding businesses in my area to get donations from. I then walked into the businesses and handed them what they needed to give me a donation. At this point I started receiving donations. Now that I was getting donations I need a place to hold the event, so I found one. Lastly, I made an event flyer. I am still getting donations. I used my teacher to help while I was in school working on my project. While I was out of school I seeked help from my mom, my aunt, and a family friend. The end product, well there won't be one really. I will just keep getting money for my charity and using the money to help people with ALS. I shared with the world by using my website and handing out my event flyer. Some success I had was making money and getting donations. Some problems I faced were writing the formal letter and finding a place for the silent auction to be held. I can learn what worked and use the same letter and place for my next event. I wouldn't do anything different next time because everything went smoothly. I am going to continue with my charity project next round because there is a couple things I need to still do.
